Well here is the problem, a few months ago I plugged in my 911 2 game only to hear a clicking/tapping sound. The monitor would not turn on. I opened up the back and found that the game board is getting power. I am still new to troubleshooting for arcades (even though I have 4) so I am not sure what steps I should take. I thought about hiring someone to do this repair as I also have a Maximum force monitor which the colors are jacked (tried to adjust the color knobs to no avail). Anyway, my main question is for the 911 game as I feel this would be a simple repair (based of course off of no experience :dizzy:) So, any ideas as to whats happening? :dunno Thanks!

I take it from your description that the game plays blind (that is, you can coin it up and get game play sounds, but you get no display). If so, it sounds like a component on your monitor has failed causing it to be unable to start.
If you want to fix this yourself, the place to start is by identifying the type of monitor (there's a stickied post in this forum with hints on how to do that - be sure to read it). You will need to be comfortable with soldering components on the circuit board of your monitor to fix this and be aware of a few safety issues. The actual component replacement isn't usually too hard, and the parts themselves are usually only a few bucks, but the troubleshooting can take a while, especially if you have very little experience.
If you don't feel comfortable doing that, I'd suggest hiring somebody to fix the monitor for you.

Actually, I dont think the game does start up. I will have to go back out and try to hit the start button after a few mins to see if I get sound. Thanks for the reply too, I will check to see if I can find what type of monitor it is.

Not sure about the 911, never seen one. But if you meant it is a Merit Radeon Force on the other gam, then the picture tube is likely done. The manufacturer of that monitor made a mistake as far as the heater voltage for the tube. This caused premature failure of the tubes.
We have replaced probably close to 60 tubes and changed a resistor on the neckboard to reduce the heater voltage.
Pretty much 100% success!

I still have to go out and check. Just been so busy between, work, kids and my garden. Not going to happen this weekend, picking up a ducati. So much to do, not enough time. :banghead:
