install Windows 3.1 WFW and see if MAME (windows) run on it  :P

( I always wanted to find out if software that claims that it runs in / for WINDOWS, runs in WINDOWS 3.x)  ;D

You could install DOS and run Mame .36 final on it. (Good luck finding SOund card drivers for DOS (you probably have it).

Yeah I'd use an old version of mame and just play the classics on it.

I did this with a 667mhz celeron and sank an eternity into trying to get drivers for the onboard audio to work with DOS and MAME.
(never did get it working)
If you have sound issues, do yourself a favor and just buy an old soundblaster card for a few bucks.

Win98 is close enough to DOS, without the issues of DOS, and light enough an OS for 333mhz.
