Trilogy was released for the Playstation, N64, Saturn, PC and Game.com. It wasn't released as an arcade game!

To be fair, I think a MKT board might be pushing the limits of what a midway board could do at the time. Not so much on the processing power, but the memory. I'm sure they could make it, but it might have been so expensive to produce that it just made sense to release it on the cheaper home consoles as a stop gap. (MK4 was already in development at the time.)

You've got to remember, when midway was in business (even though they had left the arcades) there were legal concerns about releasing rare boards to the public. Now that midway is gone, and I'm sure that WB didn't aquire rights to unfinished games, things could start slipping out.

A little, lol. Hopefully if this is real (Man, I ---smurfing--- HATE April fool's day) that I can rom swap my UMK3 board =)

Also, they had MKII Raiden doing moves in the start up demo.

Im kinda leaning towards fake cause, well, why have a 10 minute long vid then stop and not show the player select screen? I have motion sickness and need to go throw up now. freekin shaky cams....

Post by: llars on April 01, 2011, 11:03:04 am: yeah if you take the mk3-u1xx.rom files and rename them to .rar. it extracts an mkt.avi. I don't have any codecs here so I don't know if there is actual video but it plays an audio clip of Aerosmith's eat the rich. Seems like a pretty elaborite hoax.

Post by: llars on April 01, 2011, 02:31:23 pm: Because it's a hoax. In the description for the second video he has a link to the rooms on megaupload. But they aren't rooms. It's a multi part rar archive that he renamed. If you rename and extract it you get a video file.

I'm not that much of a MK fan anymore, I use to be more into the games when I was younger, but it's still messed up for the people that thought they would be able to download it for Mame. That game on PSX has bad load times when Shang Tsung morphs, it would be nice to have a arcade perfect of that game.
