What I need to do is take my .69 set and filter it down and remove roms that will not be playable or do not need to be on this mini cab im building. The mini cab will only have 4 action buttons so I dont want to put any roms on it that require more than 4 buttons. I also want to filter out the CPU hog games. I also want to filter out adult games, etc etc. The mini cab only has a 4 Gig HD and I'm hoping that If I filter out all the stuff that I cant play on this cab, I may actually be able to fit the rest, or most of them. Then I can start doing hand filtering. Any way to batch this process?
Thanks

I think you will probably have to remove the games manually, but sortinfo generates nice lists of players controls ect...

thats a good start, but there is no way to take that program and use it to runa delete batch of sorts?
-
Sure there is.
-Use the program to select all of the ROMS you want to keep.
-Delete the selection from SortInfo, so all you have left are the ROMs you want to delete.
-Use template 'del %a.zip' and export to argument template file "delroms.bat"
-You can now run delroms.bat in your roms directory to delete all fo the roms you don't want on your cab.
There are other ways to do it, too, but that should work for you.

I agree SortInfo is your best bet. It's a great program. It doesn't automatically just delete or filter all your roms for you, but it gives you access to all the information you need to do it yourself.

alright, ill give it a try, but im sure ill be back on here asking Questions, lol

Does the batch file created have to be executed on an unmerged set of roms or does it matter?
