Pinball 2000 Revenge from Mars and Star Wars had a unique flipper buttons that had an outer ring that acted as a secondary button to control other aspects of the game during the action. Does anyone know of a source for replacement of these buttons? Or a suitable dual button replacement for these games?
-
I was actually asking about these the other day at a local arcade that has a P2K. He said he can't seem to find any replacements at all. Every now and then they will appear on Ebay, but other than that he can't find a source for them. I wouldn't mind having some for a digital build.
-
that's actually what I want them for, the outer rings would be perfect for nudge buttons :)
-
I have some NOS P2K button assemblies, but they're not for sale >:D
You do realize that they are optical, right?
-
are they really? I did not know this. Did Revenge From Mars and Star Wars use them in the game? If so I never noticed.
I am in the process of designing a Visual Pinball / Hyperpin Cabinet and remembered the flipper buttons from the P2K games and was thinking they would be perfect for implementing nudge buttons that were quick and easy to access.

Yes. Star Wars uses them in the game and RFM uses them in the stage selection screen.

Little Shop of Games sells them for $13.00 each (without the boards).

...but they're out of stock.

Weird. They did not say they were out of stock when I went to the website 5 minutes ago. I was to add 2 to the cart.

i have 2 brand new old stock... they DO NOT have optical switches on them, they have this type of switch on the boards for both buttons:

::EDIT::
tentatively sold at this time...

I've never seen the back of these... Is there anyway to convert them to leaf switches?
-
Not really, I guess a guy could get creative. The buttons don't have an audible or decernable click to them.
There are 2 switches mounted to a PCB with a 3 pin header to connect to the harness. They appear to hold the buttons in place (removing the pcb would allow removal of the moving portion of the buttons)
I can take a pic and upload if it will help (and no one minds if I open the package)
