so i got a computer with 2.8ghz, 504MB ram, and installed this video card for a guy but mame is just running to slow. Im using version .139 and it has worked on every other computer i have used except for this one. Could it be the video card that i installed? It wont initialize direct 3D could that be why? any thoughts
Just looked at video card, ATI radeon 7500 64 MB PCI, Could this be the problem lol seems like a very little amount of ram

That system spec look ok to me, but if things aren't set up correctly driver-wise, then it will run in suck mode for sure! I've had a computer set up with the wrong video driver in the past take minutes to boot only to boot in seconds (as was appropriate for that machine) with the video driver correctly set up.

Do a clean install of windows

Which games are you trying to run? Some games just run slow. You could also play with the directx/d3d setting to see if one runs faster than the other on your setup.

Is one of those games Dkong, by chance? :lol

Im just tried the onboard video card and go the same slow speed on dk and ms pacman, upgraded to 1gb memory. But this time i got the "unable to initializ direct3d" and it wouldnt load so i put d3d to version 8 and it loads but slow still. ddraw doesnt even work. Im lost since i always use these computers.

i suggest you use a older version maybe pre 117, i suggest 106. I wouldn't spend time using the newer versions
