I get a loud static sound burst when a ROM first loads up in ZSNESW. Anyone know how to get rid of this? Is it a directsound initialization "feature" in the windows port?

What sound card are you using and did you change the default sound options?

No - you should not be having this prob.
You might look for an answer on zsnes boards

I get this on 2 machines .. one with a SB Live and the other with generic onboard sound. I haven't touched any sound options with ZSNESW.
I will also take a deeper look at the znes boards.

I haven't had that problem and I am running a SB Live! card with Win XP....have you tried updating the drivers?

Try reducing the volume setting slightly ???
