I am using the Project Arcade book to assemble my machine. It states in the book, "Begin by drawing a line that continues to the top horizontal angle of the cabinet that leads into the curved area. The precise angle is not critical but is approximately the same angle as the angle of the cabinet side piece."
Ok, lets see if I can explain this... the front of the cabinet has the grooves / curves that make it look cool... The speaker shelf goes right above those (doesnt say how far above) then it will angle to the back of the cabinet. Where does this angle come from... the curves? Or the top angle section on the BACK of the cabinet? If I use the top angle on the back of the cabinet the speak shelf has a really big angle it seems and goes to above the middle of the second back cabinet piece (right below the back angled section)....
Added a picture to try and explain. Thanks for the input.

Are you using Book I or II? If it is I then lucid's side view pic is attached. I will have to check the plan in book II.
The front edge of the speaker board should make the botton edge of your marquee area.

Thats a great picture, so I assume that the angle is based upon the curved section... and not the back top section. I purchased the book in 2005 (finally bought a home so I have a place to build it).... the insides have been done for 4 years :P

Yup it follows that bottom curve and gives you speakers slanted towards you and serves and the bottom of your marquee area. It does not have to be as deep as shown as it depends on the monitor or TV that you are going to use.
