Title: Multi Led-Wiz Install: Need Help/advice
Post by: MPH on March 11, 2011, 09:55:43 pm
Hoping this is an easy fix. Unfortunately, there is so little doc for the Led-Wiz that I can't figure out what is wrong.

Here's the situation:
  - 2 Led-Wiz (32) devices installed
  - Dev1 works perfectly
  - Dev2 nothing lights up (using LedWiz test program)
  - PC; WinXP SP3; plenty of power (AMD dual core CPU, plenty of RAM, etc....)
  - Led-Wiz are hooked up via powered USB
  - Led-Wiz units (both) are feeding ground to GGG RGB-LED's and couple of Paradise LED ball joysticks
  - 5v goes directly to the LEDs. Ground comes off each Led-Wiz for lighting control
  - Checked voltage at all the non-lighting LED's and it's there
  - When I manually apply ground to each contact on the Dev2 Led-Wiz, each LED lights up as it should. So they are definitely getting power.
  - USB connection only for each Led-Wiz.
  - Each Led-Wiz is wired with same format. Each is fed power from same powered USB hub.

Am I doing something wrong here?

This just doesn't make sense to me. I can manually get the LEDs on Device 2 to light, but the LED-Wiz will not do it. I've checked voltages, etc. on every point and all seems good. I am stumped. :(

Any advice or suggestions are much appreciated. :)

Check out Arzoo's excellent "LED-Blinky (http://www.ledblinky.net/)" software and make sure you select device number 2 when trying to speak to the second device.  Alternatively, I can send you a version of the test software which allows you to address device number 2.

Randy,

Thanks. I'll try that.  :)
