Hey Guys,
I got my ultimarc vga breakout cable in today and I need to splice the video plug that came with my wei-ya chassis with it. The wire colors look pretty straightfoward. Andy has labeled the colors on his plug, it would seem like I just splice the wire marked red on the plug to the red wired on the wei-ya pigtail, wire marked green to green on the wei-ya harness and so forth...
My question is when I get to the vsync and hsync wires on the breakout harness.....I'm thinking the white wire is for both wires...I just need to twist the vsync and hsync wires together and solder them to the single white wire.
Suggestions? comments?

I should mention I'm using an older agp 128mb arcadevga video card

Red, Green, and Blue match up as you'd expect to the breakout cable's connector. Black goes to all those wires that are crimped together into the break cable connector.
White is for composite sync. A lot of people just twist together the separate VSYNC and HSYNC signals like you say, and it often works, but it also runs a small risk of breaking your video card, and it may not work. To be proper, you're supposed to XOR them together with a logic gate like a 74LS86. Certain resistor combinations can also be used with varying degrees of success. You may also be able to set your PC to output composite sync via the drivers. If so, it's usually placed on the HSYNC line, leaving the vsync line unused and not connected.

Thanks for the information :)
