Post by: DNA Dan on March 08, 2011, 10:32:05 pm
What's going on with the website for Hyperspin? Is this FE no longer available?

Are you sure? Isn't the website www.hyperspin-fe.com (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com) ?

Something buggy with the access.

EDIT: Sorry Saint. You can move this thread to the software forum  :-[

Hmm, I was checking out the server and I don't see any issues on our side.

I'm in ontario canada and it cuts out quite a bit on me, I try connecting through a proxy and it always works. So for whatever reason hyperpin servers are blocking certain ip addresses. I should add emumovies is the same

HyperSpin and Emumovies are hosted on the same server.  I have checked and we don't have any ip's blocked.

hello dazz

i have the same problem with the site, i'm from israel and the site works for a few days then stops for a few days, it's like that for several months, when it does not work I surf through

http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html (http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html)

and it's always works, apparently there is a problem for those outside the United States, if you want when the site will be down again i will send you a PM so you can check it, but you need to surf from ip outside the US, about emumovies i do not know because i dont surf to the site just checking the FTP from time to time

I am in the United States and I was having issues getting to the site. My ISP is Bresnan if that helps. If you have any suggestions on troubleshooting this please let me know. I am willing to show anything on my end to help resolve this.

EDIT: I tried it again just now and it works for me. Nothing is different or changed on my end.

:dunno I do know that there are other people with the same problem though because I got the idea of using a proxy server from somebody posting about the same topic. The weird part is that it's not constant. ie this morning I can connect to the Hyperspin site no problems. Later today I might have to use a proxy to get on.

It sounds like there is a DNS problem somewhere... I'll continue checking our side and with our host to see if it's something on our side.

I'm not having any issues accessing the site. If you are having trouble accessing the site try running a trace route to see where the connection fails. If it is somewhere before it reaches the hyper spin servers then there is not much that Dazz would be able to do. Could be an issue with any server on the route your ISP is using.

Actually, we think this may be fixed.

Hey Dazz,

While I have your ear, is there any control layout view in HS for each game? or any plans to add that feature? I am still a noob with HS.

Thanks, D

No, nothing built in and nothing planned for now.  CPWizard does a good job when setup correctly.

Not user CPs, what I meant was the view of the game's original controls. So when you play you know what the buttons for the game were. I know I can access this in the mame settings, but other FE show screenshots of the original panel. Is this possible in HS?

<voice="cheesy infomercial"> Anything is possible with hyperspin </voice>

Why not put the control panel images into an unused artwork folder, and edit your skin to display artwork matching the rom names from the artwork folder you put them in? I'm not experienced to great lengths with hyperspin skin editing, but that makes sense in my mind! :P

Just convert the images to png and create a theme and specify a location/artwork layer for them in the theme.
