Title: Arcade LCD comparison: Vision Pro vs. Makvision
Post by: DNA Dan on March 06, 2011, 12:31:46 pm
I decided to go with an LCD monitor to make a slimmer cabinet. Between the two monitors below, which one is better?

OR

The only difference I can see is the viewing angles are slightly different. The vision pro is touted as being a Samsung LCD, but I don't know what is being used in the Makvision. At any rate, the Makvision is listed as a TN panel.  :-\ Any comments or observations would be greatly appreciated.

i would rather go with a standard computer monitor for several reasons...

1:) because i can go to a local store and view the product in operation to see if it's going to work in my application.

2:) because with happ, they hose you on the cost of the product and the shipping. whereas it's only my time to drive to the store, and i can buy a comparable sized monitor for about $100 less.

3:) because with a computer monitor you get a 3 (THREE) year warranty, where with the happ ones you only get 1.

granted, your not going to get the ugly open frame look you get with the happs, but nothing that can't be remedied with a screwdriver. :D

Thanks for the post. I have since dropped down on a refurbed 20" HP LP2065 off ebay. Many others have stated these worked well in their cabs.
