I finally got my pinball machine up and running and I was starting to clean it up. I found a great way to clean up the metal on it with out using steel wool which can cause marks. Go to the auto parts store and get some GOJO hancleaner and Turtlewax chrome polish. First clean any loose stuff off with fantastic. Then after dry start wiping it with the GOJO handcleaner. It will remove rust spots and anything else that the fantastic didn't remove. Then just polish with the Chrome polish. It works awesome. All the metal on this old pinball machine just shines now. Looks almost brand new. GOJO handcleaner is awesome stuff I've found you can remove almost anything with it. It also works great to remove oil spots from your garage floor.

You can also try aluminum/tin foil... Wad some up and rub area to remove rust and to restore shine.
