I'm looking at building a bartop similar to my previous project. But, I want to have a little more fun with it and brighten things up with colorful, fun artwork.
At first, I was going to do green, orange, and white as the main colors, but they (Happ) do not make orange or white joysticks (and I don't want green joysticks) so I have decided instead to use green, black, and white with hints of red.
What do you think?

Looks nice.
Not sure what joystick you're planning to use since I couldn't find it noted in your other project(Super?), but IL's Eurostick/Competition comes in white or orange.

Oooooh, thank you. I usually use happ competition joysticks. Now I will have to decide if I want to go back to the orange scheme (and change the artwork colors). I'm really liking the look of green + white +black now.

I'm trying to make sideart but I'm having trouble figuring it out. I plan on painting the cab white (the speaker panel and other exposed parts will remain white). I don't know if I should make the sides white or a green gradient like the rest of the cab. :dunno If I do the sides green, is it too much green?

I'd got with mostly black on the sides, and maybe some electric green tmold

Black with neon green/blue/yellow t-molding has been done to death. I really want the cab to be light colored and really stand out.
The first attached image is an option for green sideart. I'm just afraid it may be too much green everywhere. But, if the speaker panel, trim, buttons, t-molding, top and monitor bezel are all white then maybe it will look good. :dunno
The second attached image is where I'm drawing some inspiration for a color scheme. I love the white cab with dark sideart. The big difference between my bartop and the cabinet in this image is that I do not have a lot of open space to paint white.

What if you went with white on the sides with a couple of the aliens on it?
-
I tried aliens on the side and couldn't get it to look how I wanted. So, I yanked off their little ray guns and vacuums (ouch) and laid them in a vertical strip down the side. I think it looks good and getting it printed and put on will be easy because it is just a big rectangle.

Oh, you mean the button layout. I was wondering what you thought looked like footprints...and then I saw it. ;D
I actually really love this button layout. It is exactly the same as on my previous bartop. You use two fingers on the two top buttons and your thumb hits the bottom left button. If I ever build a full size stand-up arcade again, I will use this button layout with only 4 buttons on it also.

I like the artwork. It's nice and bold, very eye catching like arcade graphics are meant to be.

Pretty cool. I like it. :)
