Hey all.
After researching here for a while I've decided to build a cab with a TV ;D. However space and time constraints prevent me at the moment :'(.
Therefore I've decided to get a video card w/S-video out to use in the living room (MAME and other emus) on a yet-to-be-purchased 27"-32" TV, along with a controller panel I intend to make.
My question is will the Radeon 7500 work with my existing system:
Compaq Presario 5700T
P3 600
128 RAM
20 GIG hd
Voodoo3 1000 AGP
generic onboard sound card (ESS Solo)
Windows 98SE
MAME32 0.57
The reason I ask is because the specs for the Radeon require an AGP 2X slot and I'm not sure if my system supports that.
I tried my manufacterers website to check for the MB but it just shows the model numbers for the parts so I don't know which is the MB. Would it make a difference if I put it in if it doesn't support AGP 2X?
Also any recommendations on good 27"-32" TVs with S-vid in would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I think that you will find that most video cards are backwards compatible. You only need a x2/x8 agp slot to get the all singing and dancing to work on the video card.
I havbe done some checking on you machine and found that it is x2 compatible...
Graphics chipset
8 MB-nVidia Vanta LT-2X AGP, 80/100 MHz Eng/Mem,128-bit TNT2 3D graphics processor, 1280x1024 resolution, 32-bit color and 250 MHz RAMDAC, 32-bit Z/stencil buffer, DirectX and OpenGL support
Graphics bus 4X AGP (AGP 1.0/2.0 compliant)
There is another chipset available though, so if this is not you, or want to know more follow this LINK (http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/any/na/cpq/productTopicDocIndex.jhtml;jsessionid=EYRGEYWT1XTVHQEXGR3UOSQ?reg=&cc=us&lc=en&prodId=compaqpres93567&pagetype=prodinfo), and check the specifications...
Hope this helps...

Thanks Totallyout2lunch.
I was at that site but should have looked around a bit more. Now my planning can move forward.
Wish me luck on the controllers, I don't believe in luck but do it anyway.

I use a radeon 7500 w/ a 27" Sharp 27U-S600. I tried a cheap JVC 27" first, but ended up taking it back because the Sharp looked so much better.
