Title: I Bought an acrade machine, and now im stuck

Hello Everyone!

This is my first post on here, and I want to thank you in advance for the help.

I bought (well exchanged for) an arcade machine a year or two back. The game is Gauntlet, Dark Legacy, but I think the machine itself is a generic, that had this game installed into it. The whole thing works great, the screen is a little bowed on the edges, but not a real big issue.

Well long and the short of it is I don't know if I want it anymore.

What I want to know from you guys is, what can I do with it, or what can I sell it for?  i can provide any information about it that you need, as long as you tell me where to find it lol.

You could install a PC with an Arcade VGA card and install MAME. Easy quick and simple. You could install a new jamma board with over a thousand games. Also very easy. These would give you thousands of games. You could re-paint or laminate it, put artwork on it etc etc. You could build a new control panel for it. Or you could just sell it and lose out on all that fun.  ;D

Hello and welcome to the forums,
 You should really post alot more info on the game. post pics of it including of the issues that you know of.
It's really the only way anyones gonna be able to give you any advice on selling it.

As Nacimroc has said, you could always put in a pc and mame it or you can swapthe board out with another game or even one of xxxx-in-1s.

If you're looking to sell it, remember the key fact of retro collecting and general selling idiom: anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. This is why you'll see notes on places like KLOV along the lines of "Rarity is NOT an indication of value!".

Besides this fact, it's not an original cabinet, sought-after game or a classic so it'll be worth as much as it's material value at most. Going on experience, generic cabinets would go for £30-£150 non-working, £80-£200 working on places like ebay. Your best bet may be to do a full PC conversion and really unlock an arcade cabinet's potential for keeps or to sell. Failing that, strip it for parts to make the most cash back. The monitor is probably worth the most sold separately.
