Title: Kortek KTA-915 19" Horizontal Width Coil
Post by: gavincoolguy on February 24, 2011, 02:05:30 am
Does anyone know where the heck to get a replacement coil for the Kortek KTA-915 19" Chassis?? I have tried contacting some of the original resellers with absoluetly no luck. The coil is different then almost all pictures I see as the coil is not exposed at all. Is there a different way to adjust this coil? I am pretty sure that mine is frozen solid. I am really just looking for something I can drop in and solder in place. Thanks for any assistance in this matter, it drives me absoluetly nuts that I lose 1/2" to 1" on each side.

ps. Does anyone know if this was originally intended to be a vert monitor? It seems like the way it is set would be perfect for games but of course I am running it in a hori cab, the same cab I bought with the monitor.

Could you use an Electrohome G07 width coil? Or perhaps a Wells-Gardner K7000 width coil?

This monitor was originally made to be Horizontal Mount.

What are the deciding factors in whether I can use a coil made for another chassis ? I can see from the manual for my monitor that it has the typical 4 solder points, but it doesn't look anything like the pictures for alternatives. Mine lays flat and you cant see the ferrite core at all its covered by a plastic casing. Thanks for your reply.
