I have searched thru the forum here but find very few answers about how people have made modular control panels. I am considering doing that as opposed to a swappable panel as I first planed. Anybody want to give me a little guidance on how yours is setup and how it was constructed?
I have a good handle on how to make them swappable but how have people been holding the control modules down once they are in the panel?
I hear alot about how jelloslug's method is good but I can't seem to find any info on exactly how he did it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jelloslug really did mention this.
Buttons will never have trouble coming off, as you only push them down. But to prevent joysticks from coming up when you pull back on them, he attached (bolts? washers? something) that would get caught under the standard rack and made holes that they WOULD fit through in the middle. You can install them in the middle but they won't come out when they're in place on the sides.

Hi there mkarate... I just posted some pics of my modular panel the other day.
I can tell you about how I did mine if you are interested.

yes I would be interested in seeing how you did yours. In fact your post was the reason I started considering a modular panel.
Thanks.

Ok, I've updated my control panel page ( it's still rough ) but it explains how
I did my modular panels. If you have any questions just ask. :)

Here's a link to my project. It shows how I am doing my modular CP. I'm going to use some magnets which I got from doing a couple of spinner hacks. The really strong and have a really small profile. I don't know how important it is to hold them down. You have more of a problem with them sliding, then you do from them comming up. So if you do cuts that a tab bit tight, then you won't have any problems.
