I downloaded that big file of vids from the hyperspin site and was wondering if i can use them on mala? I also like the intro video that they had and was wondering if i could use that to. Im a snap guy and want to change to vids lol any help?

Yeah I did the same thing with the hyperspin videos. They are flash video files (flv) so I downloaded A free tool call FLV to AVI to convert them all. http://convertflvtoavi.com/ (http://convertflvtoavi.com/) Just make sure you choose XviD as your output codec and they should work for you just fine in Mala.

You might be able to play FLV's with latest version 1.74.
Give it a try!

I just downloaded some flv files from EmuMovies and they do not work on the game list screen. I also set one as the startup video as well, and when mala starts, I just get a black screen until I move the mouse. This is with 1.7.4.0.

O well,
Worth a Try.

Any thoughts on why they wouldn't work if the video engine your using supports them?

It's supposed to. I have never tried it as I have no need.
I am not going to push it right now. If it doesn't work you need to look at other alternatives. :P
I am having enough trouble getting then to fix a major audio bug right now :banghead:

Yeah, I'm using the avi files from EM for now. It would be a nice to have though (when you have time).
Thanks again for all your work on MaLa!

You need to download and install it ;)

I have xvid installed already but is there something that needs to be done to set it up so that the videos work in mala? how do you choose xvid as your output codec. is this a setting in mala?

No
Google is your friend for generic windows codec questions
But if the videos are playing with the test player then the codec is not the issue anyway
Make sure playing videos is enabled in options
This is a bit of a thread killer as your question is not related to Hyperspin videos :badmood:
