Title: sega saturn emu (ssf) and imports - question
Post by: tony.silveira on February 17, 2011, 07:40:05 pm
hi guys,

i'm currently running thru my sega saturn games, taking screenshots along the way in order to give something back to emumovies (their sega saturn folders are empty).

i'm using ssf 012 beta (mamewah as my front end).  i can play my US images just fine but when i try to run a japanese game, it doesn't load.  i've tried changing the region to asian in the ini file but still the same thing.  i'm thinking it *might* be because i'm using the US bios file.

so, my question, anyone have any experience getting ssf to load japanese games?  and if so, anyone know of a way to get the right bios/region loaded, depending on the game selected (US / JAP)?

thanks

If I recall correctly, there should be an ssf settings file in your ssf folder, and that file allows you to change settings on a game by game basis.  Try opening that file in notepad and searching for the game name.  You should be able to change the region setting (and other settings, as well) for just that game.  When I get a chance to get to my console emulator system, I'll check my settings to give better directions.

Okay, I checked.  You're looking for the "setting.ini" file, under the section for the specific game name, change the number next to the "Area Code" entry.  That should do it.
