Just picked up a pair of positional guns with solenoids in them. ;D
Once I become familiar with MAMEhooker, I may just have to add some bells & whistles to the driving cab.
(red & blue lights behind the unused speaker grills to start with)

What language are you considering for your Johnny 5 overhaul?

Well visual c++ would probably make the most sense. Mame is c++ compatible now so I could use some of the parsing code from mame to make it parse ctrlr files exactly like it's supposed to. I looked at vb.net, but honestly vb6 is still better. C# is an option as well.

Posted a little bit of progress regarding mamehooker on my site.
That end of the month release date is looking unlikely, but at least I'm getting things done.

Maybe not the right place to be posting this but i have a question:
I'm running Win7 and would like to use the visual pinball wrapper. When i try to launch trough the wrapper i just get stuck at a black screen. ctrl-alt-del/task manager keeps pushing me back to the black screen. At that point i can only log-out/log-in to get control back.
Any thoughts on this?

(I'm not trying to be sarcastic, just stating what I think is wrong.)
It could be because visual pinball is constantly being updated especially since the project recently became open-sourced and the visual pinball wrapper hasn't been updated in years. Also visual pinball supports command lines now.... you'll only need a wrapper or an auto hot key script to exit out for you. This should work 90% of the time.
