Title: Replace arcade CRT with LCD?
Post by: DaveStall on February 11, 2011, 11:42:04 am
I know this is probably sacrilege, but I am just sort of thinking out loud for the inevitable.

I have an original Robotron machine at home with a Wells Gardner K4900 monitor that has seen better days.  In the past few years it seems like almost every viable replacement has disappeared and replacement parts are getting hard to find as well.  Is it possible to replace the CRT with a LCD screen when my monitor finally gets beyond the point of repair?  It seems like there must be some type of conversion device out there to handle this but my searches to this point haven't turned up much useful.

You'll want something like this.

Edit: fixed link.

Same thing less than half the price (http://www.arcademvs.com/ARCADE_ACESSERIOR.htm).

I have one in a Berzerk and it works well.
