Title: Selecting a control panel
Post by: Froca on February 09, 2011, 08:42:47 pm
I am building a 4 player cabinet and would like to know the standard control board to use.

The cabinet requires 52 inputs (including joysticks) and will be used for fighting games and Mame.

Originally I selected the I-PAC 4 as it allowed for a single board to handle all the inputs, but started to question myself when I read that current games (E.G. Street Fighter IV) ran into difficulty allowing two players to use the keyboard.

I found a program to map some of the keyboard controls to a joystick emulation (PPortJoy) but wonder if there is a better solution?

There is a patch for SFIV that lets you use the keyboard for 2 players.  Its even stickied here somewhere.

Great, that makes this much easier! I-Pac 4 it is.
