If so: Please post a review.

You may want to read some of the Ram Controls threads here and at KLOV before ordering so you are aware of what you may be in for.
-
Plenty of people have bought from Ram Controls but few people ever received anything.
I would only buy from Dave via a COD transaction, he is so shady there are stories of him all over the internet.
-
I don't know of any business that does COD. Is that even offered by USPS or UPS anymore?
-
I have one, but I haven't hooked it up yet. It looks really well made though. I t doesn't come with a wiring harness, which kinda sucks. Not terrible, but for $200, I didn't really expect to have to solder wires to the pot.
-
All;
Thanks for your replies.
I'm a long term lurker here, so I'm well aware that many people have been fustrated by David's delivery times.
I've purchased a Major Havoc controller from David in the past. There was a shipping issue, but David quickly corrected it.
I've emailed David twice to ask if he has any in stock for immediate shipment, but he has not replied to my e-mails.
Even though Paul received his, I'm going to wait util I hear from David before I order from Ram Controls.
Paul: If you would like to sell yours, please let me know.

UPS still does it. I ordered something recently for my office and accidentally selected COD for the payment method. I have a good relationship with my UPS driver so we worked out the details.

COD = my way of saying just dont buy from him. Honestly Ebay with paypal protection is the only way to deal with him if I had to make an honest suggestion.
If the dude wont reply now I wouldnt expect him to later.
I too want to order something from him (SW yoke) & have no problem dropping the cash, thing is I dont trust him.

I dunno why but I absolutely love Lunar Lander
I think its the high degree of skill and delicate touch required
I wish there was a modern good graphics version with the same gameplay

Living under a moon rock? (just joking, not being sarcastic)
There are many recreations of the old style Lunar Lander game available on the web. If you run Linux, then you can have your pick of quite a few. There are even those that are pretty much a borderline 'simulation' program such as Eagle Lander 3D...which is incredibly realistic.
I too was sucked into the original game to the extent that for my Mame rig, I don't want to contend with just pushbuttons for controlling the thrust. I actually want a dedicated thrust controller.
Do a Google/Yahoo search for "Lunar Lander" (or Moon Lander) game and see what comes up.
Hope that helps,
Geo

Today (May 11) I received a reply from Ram Control's to my E-Mail of February 1.
Dan J. stated that the Lunar Lander Controller's were in stock and would be shipped within 3 business days of placing an order.
So I immediately ordered a Lunar Lander Controller.
Stop laughing/crying! I paid by Credit Card (via PayPal). If I don't receive my order within 30 days, I'll simply reverse the charge.
I'll let you guys know how things go.

And this is the problem...
You will get it, as Dan has been doing good on orders, however, i think that purchasing anything from RAM Controls until all outstanding orders/monies have been delivered/paid back is morally wrong. You are just throwing fuel on the fire.
I personally know of 2 people that paid for 2 SW cabinets (to the order of over $5k). I can guarantee you that the money you just spent on the thruster is NOT going to them...
If people keep buying from RAM Controls... :censored:

You have to admit there is no one, no one at all, that offers his reproductions. It's not like what it is between Randy and Andy. Is Randy shafts me, I can go to Andy. If Andy gives me the shaft, I can go to Randy. If they both shaft me, I can go somewhere else. With RAM Controls, my only option is eBay and the less than perfect OEM parts.
RAM Controls can piss off 25%* of the customer base and still walk away with a profit.
*random number.

With Ebay you normally get what you paid for. With Ram Controls, well read the horror stories...

Sorry... not buying it... Ask Frizz, I was Dave's biggest supporter until his true colors came out. Sure I just got some of the parts owed to me, but $ is still owed, and I have 2 friends that are out over $2500 each. You guys buying from RAM Controls (Dave, Adam, Dan, whatever... Still RAM Controls) keeps the door open for other people to get screwed. Mark my words, they will get screwed eventually. If you dont think that Dave is in the background, you are really naive and are fooling yourself.
Your argument is similar to one you hear from battered women... "He treats me and my kids like gold... when he's sober. Sure he beats the crap out of me and abuses my daughter... but only when he's been drinking... He is a good man." I call ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow---. Until RAM Controls (not Dave... RAM Controls!) pays back all that is owed, we as a community should not give him a ---smurfing--- dime! We are a community and should stand together. You rip off a member here or on KLOV, all the members here and on KLOV should ban that seller. End of story!

I have ordered from RAM Controls and I got 100% pure customer service.
Product on time, and when I had an issue - 100% communication.
I cannot explain why the others had issues, but one suggestion comes to mind.
Quality cannot be rushed.
You want it yesterday? Do it yourself.
Now lets please stop with the Ram Controls winging, as there are other threads just ready for your troll.contribution.

Dude. This has nothing to do with "Quality cannot be rushed"...
I am happy that you had no issues with RAM controls. What about the $25k+ that is currently owed to collectors? What about the upcoming lawsuits against Dave & RAM Controls?
Lets look at the Star Wars cockpits, shall we?
Dave posted a pre-order for them and collected money from several people. He then came back and told them that they are ready and collected the rest of the money. In fact, he told me personally that they were done, shipped, and "lost" in transit... then the company being used for shipping went out of business (a company no one very heard of)... After some time, the truth started to come out:
- The person building the cabinets only built a single prototype that was never sent to Dave. Dave used the pictures from that prototype to sell the cabinets
- The people that own the original art screens stated PUBLICALLY that they would NOT run the art for Dave
- The person who had access to the monitors needed for the cockpits stated (again publically) that the original manufacturer was holding them for him when Dave called them posing as the buyer and tried to get the monitors redirected to RAM Controls without paying for them
Again, i am glad you got your $x00 worth of RAM Control parts from them with no issues. Dave does this to get people like you to support him while he screws others for thousands of dollars.
If you really think a bunch of us just got together and decided to spread rumors about Dave and RAM Controls, you are a sad, sad little man...
Bottom line is. Dave = RAM Controls, RAM Controls = Dave. Dave = Crook, liar, thief, etc. People like you buying product from RAM Controls just opens the door for Dave to rip off more people.
If you look at how pyramid schemes work, you have to pay some people some money to keep the scam going. If no one gets paid, the pyramid collapses very quickly, but if you pay a few, you are good.

Ignore Ark. He's been pissy since Haze hasn't been posting much lately.
I think it's pretty clear that this has turned into a pyramid scheme. Whether it was intended that way or not from the start is not relevant. He got in over his head and can't get out now.

It all very easy to sound off like that behind an Avatar. You have 25K invested in Dave? Well if I was you I would be nice to him, instead of being a total assclown.
I must be a sad little man, as all I'm reading is just rumors. Sad sad sad.... That said, did you know I am building replica Star Wars Joysticks for $200 a pop? Just place your order - I need a good holiday. :laugh2:
I'm not worried about Haze, he's probably just happy as Larry getting all those obscure Mahjong games into the latest Mame build. :lol

What is it with these bizarre comparisons? That's apples and oranges dude.

Delivered Wednesday May 18 (as scheduled).
It was packed to survive a real trip to the Moon and back.
It's shiny new real arcade awesomeness is a wonder to behold.
Ram Controls has burnt many bridges, and some people will never do business with them again. I choose to believe that was do to mismanagement, rather than deliberate evil.
As they are the sole supplier of several outstanding products, I cautiously do business with them.
If you would like to do business with Ram Controls, just:
1) Confirm by e-mail that the product is in stock and ready to ship.
2) Pay by a method that can be reversed, should things go south.
- Mark
-
well said!
although I would add that mismanagement is not an excuse to avoid refunding peoples money
-
I used to defend Dave and also believed it was mismanagement, but after actually speaking to some people who were ripped off, it is becoming rather clear that there was intentional deception.
While I understand the "do business with caution" approach, I am leaning towards the "it is bad for the hobby to do business with them" approach.
It is reminiscent of the death of SlikStik where people who had done real business with Xtian in the past said that he was a crook and then other folks talked about their good experiences with him (and, I had good experiences with my purchases from him). We all know how that turned out.
-
I have been in the "do not do business with them" camp for quite a while now. I was wondering if this all was just "mismanagement", how can you sell (as ready to ship) and accept payment for Repro Star Wars cockpits and cabinets when the company that is supplying the monitors is quitting the business? When the people who can get the artwork printed up, won't do it for Ram Controls? When Dave keeps coming up with lie after lie and excuse after excuse to why something hasn't shipped? IMHO buying from them is simply tossing more wood on the fire so they can burn other people.

I'm done with this thread...
Oh, not so quick....
