Title: Wells Gardner K7191 chassis -horizontal line-
Post by: Maarten on February 07, 2011, 09:18:01 am
Hello

I have problem with WG monitor K7000 series.
last week, my image was very shaky. image/no image.
but for now, i have a black image with only horizontal white line in the middle of the screen.
i have a vertical synch issue.

can someone tell me what components (vertical ic, resistors) can be wrong. i do not think the vertical IC, but i was thinking about bad soldering.
or failing res. i seen it before with WG K7000 series.

txs for help guys.

Vertical line with the monitor horizontally oriented (as in a regular TV)? That would indicate a problem with the horiz yoke deflection coil. If its a vertical line with the tube vertically oriented its a vertical deflection problem (either the yoke coil connection or the deflection IC).

Pls clarify. I'd check for cracked solder first tho....

big mistake from my side

the monitor is indeed mounted Horizontaly in cabinet, like a mortal kombat cab
and white line is also situated horizontaly.

best regards

Agreed.... scour the entire chassis for bad solder joints first, as there are several common spots that could cause this. Namely around the vertical IC and the yoke headers pins.
