Title: Happ Heavy Duty Trigger Joystick with 2 buttons install question
Post by: jcutler0902 on February 06, 2011, 08:30:19 pm
Hello,

This site is fantastic and do appreciate the help.

I am installing a Happ Heavy Duty Trigger Joystick with 2 buttons. I am wiring up the ground daisy chain, but am not clear how to wire the rest of the this joystick.

My questions are:
Do I wire up the rest of the contacts (NO) to my Ipac?
There are also 4 wires that are coming from this joystick (White, Red, Black and Yellow).  I am unsure what to do with these.

I am not finding any instructions anywhere.

Thanks
Jason

Is this the one you have?

If so, from the exploded view, it looks like the four wires are for the two buttons.  They probably use different colors so you can tell which goes to which.  I can't see which ones are which though...   :dunno

Yes,

I have the two button version. I wish Happ gave some better instructions on the wires.

Hopefully someone sees this post.

It has been a while since I wired one of these (have done two) but the wires coming from the joystick represent the two buttons and the trigger. You wire them exactly like a button. Just extend the wires to your I-Pac and put them into whatever input you want (on the I-Pac). The white wire I am pretty sure is the common ground and the other ones are the wires that go to the I-Pac. As far as the micro switches go you wire those into all of your other buttons (the ground I mean). Wire them just like a button.

Hope this makes sense and helps.
