GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STEELEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great time guys.
-
Got a bunch of friends comin' over to watch it! The wife is getting nachos, chicken wings, tater skins, homemade salsa, and cookies ready! I got the beer, liquor, and arcade games fired up!
Only downside to this is that we don't get the American Super Bowl commercials up here in the great white north... :(
Darn Canadian government culture laws.
Steelers baby!! STEEEEEEEELERS!
-
Not a Packers fan but I can't stand Rothlessdbag. Can't root for the Steelers until he's gone. The whole "inner peace" garbage he has been spewing all week is just off the charts douchebaggery.
Go Packers.
-
Hoping the Steelers take it and make me $50 ;D
Sounds like a blast Opt2Not!...I'm heading to the Super Bowl party at the Alpen Club for food and drinks but sadly no arcades.
-
Boo everyone but the Patriots!
-
:hissy: :hissy: :hissy: :hissy:Steelers loooooooooooooost dang iiiiiiiiiiit!!!!! But hey at least I didn't bet on it!
-
Adios $50
:'(
hello $50 :burgerking:
what should I buy with it
-
Dammit! Was a nail-biter, but in the end the Packers had less mistakes and forced plays. :(
Gah, many o' beers and shot later, and we ended up playing some competitive Sente Hat Trick. What a wonderful 2 player competitive game (if you like hockey)!
-
+1 on Hattrick. My daughter loves that game. (and World beach volleyball, even without the sound!)
-
Word to the wise, telling everyone you "already have plans" on Superbowl Sunday is a GREAT way to get out of half-hearted parties hosted by people that don't actually watch football. No bitchy wives talking about how bored they are and how stupid football is, no husbands blathering away during penalty calls. Just MY wife, wings, queso, and a big TV.
+1 There's nothing worse than going to a party expecting to watch the game only to have a bunch of jackoffs screwing around during the game. They only want to watch the commercials. They should go to a commercial party and not a Super Bowl party.
Last nights halftime show was the first one I watched in years. I'll never watch another again. Even my 12 year old step son turned to me about 30 seconds into it and said this is awful.

+1. The LED suits were sorta cool but the show itself was horrible.

After watching a whole season of football DVR style with no commercials, ref reviews, or halftime... the Super Bowl is excruciating to watch. It feels like it takes all freakin night because everyone else wants to watch some guy sniff Dorito dust off someone else's pants.
The only commercial I got a kick out of was the Darth Vader kid. Was it a bad year or was I just not into it?

I only paid attention to a few but the Darth Vader kid was good but I saw that last week online. The Bud commercial where they started singing Elton John was funny. The rest made me feel like the car insurance commercial where the guy kept getting hit in the 'nads.

Erf. My mother watches every year pretty much so she can see the Budweiser Clydesdales. When they came on, then it cut to a bunch of cowboys singing a song, she started yelling at the TV and spilled my beer. Then she spent the rest of the night complaining that it was the only commercial with those horses. :banghead:

I liked when Slash came out playing Sweet Child O' Mine but Fergie kinda ruined it with her performance.... just saying. Oh and the people with the LED suits making arrows and stuff was cool.

She was completely in the wrong key and got all pouty when Slash was busy and not willing to stare at her tits. I can't figure out why they did that to begin with. It didn't fit at all.
-
There's been a big push around Slash lately and I'm not really sure why. Yeah, he was pretty good 20 years ago but that well is getting dry.
I'm not an active fan or anything but Velvet Revolver was a lot less than 20 years ago.
-
Chad I think pinballjim is referring to Slash in Guns N' Roses, or Slash's solo album for that matter.
-
---smurfin--- Steelers lost man I was so pissed. Still had fun though. But man.

Did you even read what I said? :dizzy:
Sure looked like it could be paraphrased as "he was relevant 20 years ago but it's been a while"... fact is the guy was on the billboard charts within the last couple of years.

Yeah I know man! I know someone who lost 50$ though... :lol J/k!

Well, you did say "HE" was pretty good 20 years ago, not "Guns-N-Roses" was pretty good 20 years ago...

I saw VR at a fairly small club when they came out with the first album.
The crowd was divided into Stone Temple Pilots fans and women who looked like they were stuck in the 80's.
As long as they played STP or GnR songs, the crowd was into it.
Whenever they played the VR stuff everyone just stood around looking at each other waiting for the song to be over.
-
Christina A getting the words wrong?! Maybe a little practice beforehand would be a good idea.
I liked the Darth Vader commercial, and the (VW) Beetle was pretty good.
It seems like the commercial quality has been going down the last couple years.
-
Beer commercials always get stuck on my mind somehow... :lol

The suits were designed and produced right down the street from us. We sort of know the people involved, their daughter was a walk on and was able to get up on stage...I love, love the peas music. That show was not right though. They looked nervous and I believe it would have been much better to have been there. You couldn't hear the music through the tv, so that was just not right. Have ya ever heard the backup vocals only of 'hey jude'? If so than you would be rating the peas a 9.75 for vocals in comparison...
Anyway, great superbowl!
Story on the suits...

I look at the superbowl as "Hey, no more football on TV for a while!" and consider it a win.

Ah yes the sunday afternoon infomercial season is about to begin. I'll bet you're pretty excited that magic jack was renewed for another season!
