Title: Ok to route acrylic?

I'm in the process of a conversion and need a new cp cover. I went to home depot and a sheet of lexan is 60 dollars where as acrylic is 20 I'm on a budget so I was wondering if acrylic is easily routable or if its just gonna snap if I try?

I think all of those plastics are easily routable... Anyways, if acrylic is the same as plexiglass, routing is basically the only way to go :p.

Yes, you can definitely cut acrylic with a router.

Be careful of heat buildup though and look for router bits made specifically for cutting plastics.

You can talk to these guys too. They actually sell sheets and will do perfect laser cuts for cheap. It's where I get my material from and they are great to work with.

I just routed my Plexi so it is definately routable and it makes "Snow" hehe  ;D
