Title: Scratch Built Pole Position Mame
Post by: HaRuMaN on February 04, 2011, 01:44:17 pm
So, I've given up on getting an original Pole Position, after not being able to find one locally, and after hearing all the horror stories about being able to keep it running.

I'm planning on using an old PC (got several lying around) and ShifterMAME.

So far, I have bought a control panel (steering wheel and shifter intact), a gas pedal, glass bezel, and marquee.  Pics later.

Also have an over / under coin door.

I need to find plans / dismensions for the cabinet, and I also need to find that plastic "cockpit" piece.

I plan on buying the full sideart from This Old Game, unless someone has any better ideas.

This does sound cool. I will be watching also. I never even heard of shifitermame  :lol

Have you looked at Gozers 3d sketchup model? Not sure of the accuracy of the measurements but it s a place to start.

Haruman- if you can give me a call or PM me a phone number I can measure the cab for you over the phone.
This way we can make sure you get every single measurement accurately and all at once, cause I tend to ---fudgesicle--- up a lot.   :lol

I pulled the cabinet back out last night and I'm ready, I will be available this afternoon for a while, and on Sunday afternoon after 3PM CST.

Sorry I wasn't able to get around to this this weekend!   :banghead:

Could I make you a diagram with the dimensions I need, and you fill it in at your leisure?

Sold the machine today to make room in the shop.  Haruman, I waited for you since the 25th of February but never got a call, a number or an email.  :dunno

Sorry man.  The machine is now with another collector, though he is a fine human being.  He has agreed to fill out your spec sheet should it ever reach me.   :lol

Take care...
