Hi guys. Recently i've noticed that the speaker boxes i'm using in my cab (part of an old stereo i'm using as an amp) is creating burn in on the top right of the screen. Oddly enough however, it's not creating any on the left side, even though they're virtually in the same height/depth.
What I was wondering, is there any way I can prevent this burn in? Is there anything I can use to "shield" the magnet?

The easiest way to do that would be to make a mesh of copper wire and make sure it's properly grounded between the monitor and the speaker.
However, in practice, to do this right, it's a major pain in the ass. You'd probably be better off getting some shielded speakers.

Speakers are sheilded by having another magnet attached to the driver magnet but at the opposite pole. If you have another pair of the speakers around you can try that. I've also used lead sheet. You can get that at a plumbing store. It's thin and flexable and you'll have to use a few layers.

btw I'm pretty sure copper mesh will not do anything to a magnetic field, considering its Mu-R (relative permeability) is 1. (this means that as far as magnetic fields are concerned, copper is the same as free space.)
I'm also pretty sure lead won't do you much good either, because it's in the same class (diamagnetics) as copper, silicon, carbon, and inert gasses. Maybe if the lead sheet has something other than lead in it, but in that case you'd want to leave the lead out of your house and get some of whatever other material is helping.
