Title: How do you get a computer to boot when it doesnt detect the keyboard?
Post by: Hoagie_one on August 19, 2003, 08:19:08 pm
For instance, If you only use a gamepad hack or whatnot and it doesnt need a keyboard hooked to it.  The computer starts teh booting process and says keyboard not found, press f1 to continue or del to go to bios.

I cant hit f1 because there is no keyboard hooked up.

Anyone?

In bios you can disable that keyboard check.

my favorite kaiku:

'Keyboard not present
Press F1 to continue'
Zen error message

I saw it as a runner up in an error message haiku contest (I wonder why you don't see more of those) on salon.com I think.

In bios you can disable that keyboard check.

Depends on the BIOS.  Some do, some don't.

If all else fails, get a broken KB, rip the board/connector out, and plug it in.  It should still detect the KB, but it's small enough to tuck away (in the case of a bartop, maybe)

Bios fixed it.  Thanks all.
