Hi guys,
I've finished my VGA to SCART cable many months ago, and it works fabulous. I also have a N64 plugged into my tv through SCART (SCART splitter), so that I can also play N64 through the actual console. So here's what happens normally: when I turn on the computer and the tv, the tv automatically jumps to AV mode and the computer boots up. No issues. When I turn on the N64 and the tv, I have to manually put the tv into AV mode and everything works fine. HOWEVER, my remote control has broken, and now I can't manually put the tv into AV mode anymore. It still works when I turn on the tv and the computer (because of the molex plug connected to the SCART), but I can't use my N64 anymore.
So I did some thinking and thought "hey, why don't you just solder that molex plug from your VGA/SCART cable to the SCART splitter instead? Like that the tv will tune to the AV chanel automatically, even when the N64 is turned on!"
For some reason it's not working though... What am I doing wrong? How can I get this to work?

Nobody has got any idea?

i'm no expert on PAL technology, as i live in north america, but maybe the TV is picking up the sync signal from the VGA to detect the signal.
this could be tested by applying the n64 signal, and just injecting the sync from The VGA into the SCART connector. i't won't be usable, but if the TV switches, that would be how they do it.
of course this could all be poppycock. :dunno it really depends on the TV manufacturer. apparently 12 volts is applied to pin 8 to switch it. maybe a toggle switch is needed on your splitter.

I got the 12v to pin 8 as well as the ground set up exactly as in the VGA/SCART cable, so that can't be the problem. I'll test the sync theory tomorrow or the day after that. Thanks for pointing me in a direction!

i would buy a 3 euro replacement universal remote and a high quality rgb scart switch , no cheap y or composite vid cable stuff.
