Title: Geometry Wars and Arcade Vga Card
Post by: kegger on January 18, 2011, 03:04:26 pm
I am trying to get Geometry Wars to work with Arcade Vga card.
When I load the game I get nothing but Black screen. I can hear the music playing
and go through the menu's, but I can't see anything. Has anybody run into this
or is the Arcade vga card not compatible with the Ultimarc drivers.
Also this is an AGP card as it's probably 5 Yrs old at least.

Thanks
Keg

Most likely a resolution issue with your monitor.
Can you see the video options menu?
Change it to something your monitor can handle, its most likely currently set to something to high

Yea I thought of that and tried setting to 640X480 on another PC then copied the file over
but that didn't work. From reading about the game it is a Directx 9 or 10 game and the
Arcadevga 2 that I have only supports DX8 and the game needs shader support 2.0
so I think the card doesn't meet the spec. Do you have it running on an Arcadevga ?
All I get is sound and no picture, I can hear the menu's as I scroll through them but
can't see them  :-[
