This is a 27inch svga monitor that is put in the pga tour cabs. I can not get rid of the red on the right and the green on the left. It is slightly blurry on both sides. I have tried degaussing to no avail. I found no lose wires and the yoke is perfectly in place. I was told that the shadow mask in the tube is most likely the problem. I have searched all over for a replacement tube for a A68KVL74X and could not find anything. Also, 2 top it off, the pcb user control is not working. The green led lights up but nothing when buttons are pressed. I have called to various local coin op dealers and they do not have any monitors this big.
Can this be fix or what are my options? I have found a a NOS Kortek 2938F on ebay but it is in UK and is $750 without shipping. Any suggestions?

do you have a photo of the problem
shadow mask can cause various issues, you can get either crazy swirling colours or an out of focus gaussing
do you need a replacement to be svga?
-
Attached is two pictures of the problem. The colors stay in place. All red on one side and slight green on the other.

attached to what?

No pics, but have you tried adjusting the convergence/purity rings?
-
Am I the only one who can see the pictures I attached of my monitor? weird. I have messed around with the purity rings. I could only sub out less red for green. Didn't make much of a difference.

that looks like a magnetization issue to me.. You've used a degaussing ring?
-
is the degauss on the remote board?
-
An issue of this magnitude will probably need an external degaussing.
-
internal degaussing has been done with nothing. Then I rented out degausser from repair shop. Neither worked.

Was this monitor by chance dropped? That is indeed about what things typically look like when the shadow mask gets dislodged. This is irreparable. You'd have to find a new tube.
Your controls not working is troubling. Doubtful that failures resulting in no OSD would cause that kind of video oddity, but who knows. If you indeed have multiple problems like that, you may just consider trashing the whole monitor.

could be shadow mask, can see the convergence is way out also
-
That is what I figured. I will be trying to find a new monitor.

I know you said you checked the yoke but these monitors in the Global VR cabs are very prone to having the yoke break loose. I've fixed a few of these with this problem. Just something to check before you toss it. It indeed also could be a misaligned shadow mask. Both of these problems exhibit very similar symptoms.
Actually by the pics I can see your picture is slightly canted.

a warped shadow mask will produce incorrect colours .
in that event, the solution is to replace the CRT
an A68xxx will be a 27" tube . just about any will work.
pin outs are mostly standard and cutoff variences are not much of an issue.
so, find a donor TV and have at it !
for what its worth , last week swapped out a 36" crt from an RCA tv to replace a dying tube in a shooting game . ;)

Thank you all. It will be tossed.
