Title: Does anyone have a Tron? Looking for some CP measurements
Post by: goldenageofarcade on January 17, 2011, 02:45:01 pm
Hi,

I am building a dedicated Tron panel for my MAME, and I'd like to know the size of the original Tron control panel, as well as the distance between the joystick and the spinner.  I really want to mount my controls as accurately as possible to the placement of original panel.

Does anyone have a Tron they could measure for me?

Thanks very much,
Ryan

Shoot Encryptor (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?action=profile;u=11742) a PM.  He is rebuilding one.  I sold a Tron CP to Galaga69 a few years ago but he hasn't logged in for a while.  Sending him a PM may be worth a shot.   :dunno

I'm restoring a Tron cabaret. It's not a full size cabinet.

I have a Tron CP. Do you want it? I can also take measurements but if you want it I'll figure out what I paid for it and sell it to you for the same + shipping.

Using an actual CP wouldn't work for me, unfortunately, the shape wouldn't fit the base of my CP, which is set up to have multiple swappable panels.  But dimensions would definitely be appreciated!

Thanks,
Ryan

I have some tron art, including cpo art. It is in pdf format, but it is really nice. Let me know if you want a copy, or I could post it if I can figure out how.

That would be awesome!  I sent a PM with my email.

Thanks very much,

I did this once, but can't seem to find the thread.

I've got a spare Tron CP (at least I think I do), so will pull it out and put together some measurements later this afternoon.

Did you ever finish your Tron restore?

I sent it off. Hope it helps. Let me know if you don't receive it.

The PDF is great, thanks!  Unfortunately the scale seems a bit off, I printed it and the holes for the buttons are much bigger than buttons actually are, so it looks like I'll still need the actual width of a CP so I can workup the exact relative distances for the controls.  Anyone with a Tron able to give me that measurement?

Thanks very much,
Ryan

23" x 6 5/8"

Spinner hole centre is 7" from the left edge and centred on the vertical.

Joystick hold centre is 7" from the right edge and centred on the vertical.

Sorry to bump this, but can anyone with a DoT cab tell me if these measurements are the same?
