i know ebay, but shipping will suck really bad. so anyway i was just wondering if there are better places to get them. i thought about arcade auctions but i didnt know how much they go for sometimes. anyone know?

Here is what they sell for at the auctions.
The first one will sell for $900
The second one will sell for $600-$700
The third to fifth ones will sell for $300 ish.
The next 80 of them will sell for $75-$125.
The last two will sell for $200.
Those numbers may not be exact, but they are darn close. Been to enough of the auctions to see that pattern.

A lot of the older slot machines are emulated. Search for "fruit emulation" I believe and you will find some.
I love it because they have settings on each game... And now you have proof that the settings are like "suck their money away slow, med, fast, like a drain"

paigeoliver hit that nail right on the head...
At the SuperAuction in Mesquite this last Saturday those were pretty close to the prices that the slot machines were going for... The cheaper ones did appear to work, but they were missing keys, lights wouldn't light up, or a reel or 2 wouldn't spin.

thanks a lot guys! i dont want an emulated one because i want to be able to pull the lever and all that. i want an actual machine. 200 bucks is too much for me....but i might pay around 100 for one. so you think that if i get one for this price it will be damaged in some way...as in no lights, etc.?
-
From what I saw at this past auction, the only ones I saw for around $100 had something wrong with them. Most of it seemed like things most "tinkerers" could fix in a weekend though...
(Lights, locks, missing keys, etc...)
And yes, there were a few that were just plain broke that went for around that price too...
Just make sure you know what you're getting before you pay.
Good luck!

well i have no clue how to fix them at all....i just want one that works well. so i guess that means ill be spending anywhere between 150-250 correct?
-
I was informed in California if you're caught with a slot machine newer than 20 years it's a $15,000.oo fine. Won't stop me from buying one though. :)
I was also informed if it's older than 20 years it's legal to own but you have to register it with the state.
Can any experts confirm this?

Not really. It varys with each show. I bought one once at $100, and there wasn't a thing wrong with it at all. Just nose your way to the front so you can see what you are bidding on.

It's that way in several states. In some states slot machines of any vintage are illegal. Depends entirely on the gambling laws where you live.

hmmm, well i know in TN there is no lottery....yet. we are supposed to get the lottery soon, so maybe that will change some laws. but i guess that would make slot machines illegal to own. well too bad, i dont think the police are coming any time soon :-)
-
A quick check at the US Auction site said TN is an all prohibited state. You might want to check the penalties before hand, you'll be kicking yourself if the police showed up looking for someone else and you end up getting charged with a felony over a single slot machine.
-
so why would they sell slot machines in an auction in TN?

why do cops dress in plainclothes, (wired, mind you) and try to buy drugs? :P

hmmm, good point.
