Anyone wanna be my savior on this one?
I have an Pavillion tower (stock) that runs my mame games perfectly. Now I have a new CPU in the house, the pavillion gets to be promoted to the cabinet. I just got a AMD Radeon HD 2400 128MB video card with S-Video and installed it, along with the drivers.
PROBLEM:
Not recognizing the new video card? I have NVIDIA GeForce 6150 onboard and that obviously works fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am lost!
If it matters I have the little yellow bubbles with exclamation points in them in my device manager. I've tried to make those go away with no luck. My best guess is that they are the new card??

A few things to try... disable onboard video in the bios. Sometimes it can be set to initialize first and that can cause issues. Also try downloading the newest drivers for that card again. Try reinstalling them after reseating the card in the slot.

Done both!
I tried to disable the onboard and it doesn't let me. It gives me 3 choices for primary video

PCI-E
Onboard
When I chose PCI-E, it did nothing as I was still able to see everything plugged into my onboard plug??

it's really just the order in which the cards will be initialized... the on board will still work, but it will operate as a secondary monitor if there is a pci card found installed first.

Even after disabling the onboard, the PCI-E card still has no video

also note, that some videocards will fail to initialize if there is no monitor plugged into them on powerup
also check your BIOS for a setting to reset or update the ESCD

If you install a new piece of hardware or modify your computer's hardware configuration, the BIOS will automatically detect the changes and reconfigure the ESCD (Extended System Configuration Data). Therefore, there is usually no need to manually force the BIOS to reconfigure the ESCD.
However, the occasion may arise where the BIOS may not be able to detect the hardware changes. A serious resource conflict may occur and the operating system may not even boot as a result. This is where the Force Update ESCD BIOS feature comes in.
This BIOS feature allows you to manually force the BIOS to clear the previously saved ESCD data and reconfigure the settings. All you need to do is enable this BIOS feature and then reboot your computer. The new ESCD should resolve the conflict and allow the operating system to load normally.
Please note that the BIOS will automatically reset it to the default setting of Disabled after reconfiguring the new ESCD. So, there is no need for you to manually disable this after rebooting.

I appreciate all the help with this issue. I "fixed" the issue. I took the video card out of the older computer and plugged it in after disabling the onboard and it read it immediately. I didn't even have to download the drivers.
Plugged it into my cabinet and it works like a charm. I think the A-HOLE on stinkbay took me for a ride on that other card. Oh well, what do you want for $10 and no returns accepted. Shoulda saw that red flag right away!
