Title: New Bond Movie

It's official. Daniel Craig will appear in his third James Bond film (the 23rd overall). The spy flick picks up where Quantum of Solace left off, and this time around, Sam Mendes will direct, making it even more promising.

Mendes, who captained films such as American Beauty and Jarhead, was originally just an advisor, but is now in control of the latest 007 installment, which has seen delays as of late for various reasons. The script is still heavily under wraps for the still-unnamed MGM film, but Deadline reports that they'll begin shooting in early 2011, with the film expected in theaters by November 9, 2012.

Good to see another one in the works.  I enjoyed Casino a lot but Quantum was just ok.

Except old ones.  Maybe Ahofle meant that he's stopped himself from watching old ones?   :laugh2:

James Bond is to over the top for me. The last James Bond I liked stared Remington Steele.

I've been reading Vince Flynn novels. They're about a fictional CIA agent(American Assassin). I got hooked on them a few years ago when I had a longer commute to work and listened to the books on CD from the library.

They're making a movie based on those books.
That's a spy movie I want to see.

I got bored of the Vince Flynn character - he's just too one dimensional for my tastes.  You could say the same about Bond, but at least these recent new Bond movies have been gritty and less gimicky than they Roger Moore era.

Is this the one where the leading lady is named the politically correct "Brains Aplenty?"

I'm happy to hear there is another Bond film in the works. I thought the last two had some nice sly nods to the original corny stuff in the series (drowned in oil, villain weeps blood), without seeming quite as implausible. And I think Daniel Craig is a terrific Bond.

I really wanted to like Pierce Brosnan as Bond, because he was super awesome Bond-guy in Remmington Steele. But aside from Golden Eye, the writing for Brosnan's Bond films was terrible. And it seemed like they were more interested in cramming lots of cameos into the films.

Don't forget her sidekick, "Personality Galore"

I got dyslexic here and somehow imagined you meant The Saint made a good James Bond.  ;D  Although, actually, since I didn't know any better, I did actually like Roger Moore as Bond...
