Just went back to XGaming.com and noticed they now have a multi sync replacement option for the now discontinued WG D9800. Anyone have any experience or feedback on the replacment?
It is a Makvision/Weiya 29"
http://www.xgaming.com/store/arcade-parts-and-accessories/product/weiya-29-flat-screen-crt-arcade-monitor/ (http://www.xgaming.com/store/arcade-parts-and-accessories/product/weiya-29-flat-screen-crt-arcade-monitor/)
Thanks in advance!
UPDATE: Appears to be 30khz to 50 so its not going to run original 15khz in progressive mode but rather user higher resolutions which is not what I am looking for...thankfully I have two of the WG D9800s still!

What's the impact of the new monitor having a horizontal scan from 38-50 kHz vs. 15.75-38 kHz on the older D9800? I'm new to this, but it seems that everyone wants to try and run the really old games at 15.75--scanlines and all at a lower resolution.
How does this work with an ArcadeVGA? Is it possible to run it at lower resolutions and retain the quality of the original image?
?????

Oh wow, no this is not going to work well with an arcade VGA card or really be that great at all if you want original resolutions :(. Lucky I grabbed my d9800 a few months ago from them, but really sad that this is the replacement. I guess it's at least a CRT, but only going down to 38Khz like that is pretty limiting and more like a SVGA computer monitor and not even capable of VGA resolutions around 31.5 so even Soft15khz isn't going to be useful for this thing.
Edit:
Ok, it's 30-50KHz actually which you get 31.5Khz and ok, so it's like a normal computer monitor. Still not very great, but now just a really large computer monitor CRT without ability to go down to 15khz resolutions.

Yep, which instantly killed it for me. I want 15khz or I might as well use LCD and D3D :(

Most old arcade games ran at 15.7khz or close to it. The ArcadeVGA has been designed specifically to allow computers to output resolutions that are lower than what most standard graphics cards normally allow.
The quality of the original image is in now way compromised when running a 15khz native game at 15khz. Rather, it allows the true beauty of the game to be appreciated in the way it was intended in most cases.
Running 15khz games on a 31khz monitor via emulatio is certainly possible, and the games are highly playable. Many people on this board use setups like that and are happy with it.
Personally, I am a purist. For me it's native res or nothing.
Of course the 50khz abilities of this monitor are quite interesting! Alas, it has a .68mm dot pitch. Even with the high res support you would not be able to make out fine details.
It would probably make a good monitor if you were only concerned with 31khz stuff. Games from 1996-2008 or so.

Thanks Jack!
Also update for those interested. XGaming is going to be carrying a Makvision trisync monitor as well. They are emailing me the specs today so that is certainly promising.

Please post the information and pricing as this interests me as well.

I'm guessing they are going to sell these, have been looking around and it seems to be the closest replacement for the d9800 without the SVGA mode and only up to 640x480 resolution. At least this is an interesting possibility of how to get them, not sure but looks like about the same price all together with shipping that I paid for my d9800 from X-Gaming.

They also have a larger monitor listed at their website:

29" screen/27" viewable
Would still like something that can also do SVGA...especially for >$500

Will post when I am back at work tomorrow with the email that XGaming sent me but ya it looks like the monitor above with 15khz mode as it was a Makvision they emailed me...just don't have it in front of me at home here but fairly certain that is the one.
