Title: basic wiring question
Post by: pd on August 18, 2003, 08:51:00 pm
Let me start off by acknowleding that I'm aware there are no stupid questions...just stupid people

...and I am one of them.

Just got my I-pac today and am starting the wiring layout.

Have read bunches but am still curious how I'm going to hook up my 8-way Player 1 joystick and my 4-way joystick since they both use the same keys in MAME mode.

Can I daisy-chain them like I'll be doing for ground?

Well you won't be daisy chaining them but just put the wires in the same holes on the IPAC.

ha that was odd... I just posted at the same time you did.  daisy chain em, or what apollo said, it's electrically identical.

What I did is this... I daisy chained the grounds, like everyone i think does.  When I tried to wire multiple wires into the i-pac, I found it very hard to get and more than one 22 guage wire into the i-pac terminals...  So I went with the daisy chain idea for the other wires also.

Basically, just go from sau up on the 4-way to up on the 8-way to the i-pac...  It workes perfectly.

Best of luck...
