Loadman -- I've noticed this since 1.73 (I'm on 1.735 Beta now): When Mala starts up (either by starting with Windows or whether I launch it myself), the trackball or mouse does not move the gamelist up and down on my setup. Page Up/Down and Letter Up/Down work. If I click the right mouse button to bring up the subwindow then close it, the trackball and mouse starts to work.
Is this something wrong with my setup or is this a bug?
-
UPDATE: The trackball/mouse is also awoken by clicking on the left (main) mouse button.
Could this have something to do with my mouse assignments or something? I have technically 3 "mice" plugged in: 1. Trackball (through Mini-Pac), 2. Two Turbotwist2 Spinners (one on X axis, one on Y), 3. Wireless Logitech Mouse.
-
???
ahhh Dunno.
Never heard of that one.
Nothing has changed on Mouse driver for a long time.
Are you sure the issue does not exist pre 1.73 with your 3 mice ?
-
Before this, I was using a 1.6-ish Beta, and I don't remember this happening. But I just realized the other thing that changed in my cabinet recently was the addition of a USB 2.0 PCI Host Controller (so my U360s and Minipac wouldn't be running on my Gigabyte phantom power). The wireless mouse is still on the mobo. I'll check to see if this changes things.
-
just wired two mice to opti pac and it does not scroll in the gamelist. only works in mame. did it ever work?
-
I'm going to experiment with old vs. new USB ports and Mala 1.73 vs Mala 1.6-whatever today. I'll report back in a few hours.
-
Loadman,
Okay, experiments are complete.
1) It's definitely not the USB 2.0 PCI Host Controller. I cannot scroll on startup with the Minipac and spinners plugged into the Controller or the mobo.
2) Tried my last setup, Mala 1.6.6.3 Beta. NO PROBLEMS. I can scroll on startup. This was true for both the USB Controller and the mobo.
Another observation: I spent yesterday creating a new MAME list within Mala 1.735 (right click, add this game to [other] list). In 1.73, when I would leave the sub-window, my mouse cursor would be visible (and I am unable to scroll), until I left click. In 1.6.6.3, same behavior, BUT the mouse cursor is not visible.
-
Loadman -- Just to make sure, I tried 1.73 (non-beta, I've actually been using 1.735 this whole time). I still cannot scroll on startup with plain ol' 1.73.

Wow,
Not sure how I would go about recreating that issue? ???
Maybe it has something to do with the Transition to Delphi 2007? http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=107121.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=107121.0)
But again, not sure how to recreate/test ???
I will have a quick look at some obvious settings tonight ;-)
-
I found some old Mala installs lying around my hard drives...
Mala 1.72 -- no scrolling on startup.
Mala 1.71 -- IT SCROLLS!
So something changed to affect my setup between 1.71 an 1.72?
-
That rules out Delphi 2007 as according to the website it was not changed to that until 1.73
http://www.malafe.net/index.php?page=versionhistory (http://www.malafe.net/index.php?page=versionhistory)
Best guess in the change list is it may be related to this.....
• Fixed bug where selected game in list would jump up/down one item after orientation change (really fixed it this time)
I wish I had a way to test ???
-
Do you have a Minipac? I take it you're not seeing the same problem on your end so that's why you can't test? Maybe the trick is to discover why it's happening for me?
Is this happening for anyone else out there?
-
As mentioned in PM exchange I wil send you some more older MaLa versions for you to test to work out where the breakage occured
-
Loadman --- Just to double-check, I opened up my cabinet and tried various configurations of having the different mice-type devices (Minipac, Turbotwist, Logitech Wireless Mouse) plugged in. The glitch still occurs in 1.735 with ONLY Minipac plugged in and ONLY Logitech Mouse plugged in. So conceivably, could this bug be tested with just a mouse and a keyboard?
-
Will Try.
Versions emailed to you for testing
-
Ran all the versions you sent me in chronological order. Versions 1.710 through 1.718, the mouse scrolled upon start. BUT on 1.719, the bug showed up. No scrolling until I left-clicked. Hope that helps!

Sure Does.....
I will take it to the MaLa testing lab facility.
OK, It's just my desk at home ;D

You mean to tell me the MaLa Testing Lab Facility doesn't have giant mainframes, bubbling beakers and teams of scientists running around?!?! ;D

OK
Thanks to your good testing I think I fixed this.
It will be in next beta release
-
You're the best Loadman! Looking forward to the Beta. Safe travels and plentiful beer in the new year.
