I have an old MK2 cab with a Wells K7000 25'. I've got almost all the parts (PC, Ipac, ArcadeVGA, etc) together to build my first cab. I began gutting the cab of the PCB and controls/wires, etc. I assumed that the monitor would only need the power supply and transformer to power on, but after trying it and reading more here I was wrong. I've searched and searched the forums but can't find any answers on how to power a Wells monitor without the JAMMA connection and PCB. How are you guys doing it (without the jpac)??? Any help is really appreciated.

A K7000 needs an isolation transformer to provide AC to it. It is wired directly from the isolation transformer to the AC input of the monitor. WG has manuals online if you need more info.

Thanks for the fast reply but I'm aware that the K7000 needs a transformer (this was in my original post). Wells does not have any manuals on how to power the K7000 without a PCB. I really need someone who has done something similar to what I'm doing. I have an old MK2 cab that I'm converting to a MAME cab. I've ripped out the PCB, control panel, and JAMMA connections. Now I'm just left with the isolation transformer, switching power supply, and monitor. The monitor no longer powers on with only these items in the cab. PLEASE HELP! What can I do to get the monitor to power on? Did I fry the switching power supply by turning it on without the PCB? If so, what do I do to fix it? Man, I'm stuck...

the isolation transformer just wants straight AC mains power. If you're not using the PCBs, you shouldn't need that switching power supply any more.
Something like a smartstrip will allow you to cycle the power on the monitor on/off, or any other variety of power switching devices such as:

Thanks cotmm68030! I will rip out the switching power supply and just have the isolation transformer and monitor in the cab.

If you left the big transformer in the bottom of the cabinet with all different colored wires coming out of it, then your monitor should already have power wired to it. (the purple colored wiring)
Can you grab a pic of what you have left in the cabinet ?
I'm thinking you disconnected/turned off something else such as an interlock switch.
Or possibly unwired something such as the power feeding the fuses that run that transformer.
Just shooting in the dark here without seeing exactly how you have removed certain things.

I would take a pic but don't have a camera (not even on my phone, pathetic I know). I do remember what I've disconnected and it was the PCB, light for the marque, control panel, lights for the coin door, and most of the wires connected to the switching power supply. The monitor, switching power supply, and power switch are the only things connected to the transformer. I have not disconnected any ground wires anywhere. I have a meter so I can check power on something if needed. Am I cool? Thanks again for the help dudes.
