So here is the start and almost final product. was just waiting for a dremmel tool to make quick work of the drywall.
also, it's amazing how 14 inches was really only supposed to be 13 inches across. whoops!
-
Nice. I'm SO wanting to do something like this.
But I'm thinking Ipad, little intranet webserver, remote control home theater....Ack way more projects that I need right now :)
-
yeah there are so many tablets now that it could've been much easier to just pop one of those into the wall. had that elo laying around for almost 2 years and just wanted to do something with it.

:dizzy:
Measure twice........Cut once!

Your a going to love it. I have installed a 17 in ELO Touchscreen.
What software are you running? I am running XBMC.
Best Ragards,

Running xlobby, the free version. has a nice feel to it, but i honestly haven't looked at front-ends in almost 2 years. there might be something else out there.
-
Got the j-molding placed in around the edges, just waiting to get a mitre box to cut the angles.
-
that looks pretty cool :applaud: are you going to feather out the j channel with joint compound? might look kinda cool to case the opening with a stain grade casing to match the doors.
-
I will be putting a frame on it that is basically base trim.
-
Ok, i got the frame put in. Not too shabby if i do say so myself. Now i just have to run cable all through the house. :banghead:
PS: i know if looks tilted, but it's level, just the way i took the pictures
-
:applaud: gonna have to add this to my ever-increasing list of projects. someone with more skills than myself could potentially turn that into a whole-house information system to control lighting, thermostat settings and many other common household functions.
is this primarily for a juke, or is there anything else you plan to do with it?
-
it just does my jukebox, don't have any plans for home automation, at least in this house.

:applaud: Looks great! :applaud:
Now hide WinXP with Instantsheller or something of the sorts! Takes the computer feel away!
 Fordman
