Title: Plasma TV has thin black lines
Post by: Vigo on December 28, 2010, 01:49:15 pm
Hi, I have checked all over the internet and didn't find any helpful answers. I figured there are plenty of gurus here, so I hope someone here can help out. My 1.5 year old plasma TV has 3 static horizontal black lines through it and any advice on how to repair it would be appreciated.

They came on suddenly after I returned from Christmas vacation. 3 black thin lines, all in static locations on the bottom portion of my 50" Samsung plasma TV. I had not moved or changed anything about the TV, and they are very crisp lines, exactly 1 "pixel line" wide and run horizontally across the entire screen. The lines are on all inputs, and the line is not visible when the TV is off.

I can take photos, get model numbers, etc tonight if needed.

The 1 year warranty expired on it so any advice that does not include "send it in to a certified Panasonic technician" is appreciated.  :lol I bought a panasonic home theater at the same time and that broke 1 month after the warranty expired. Why spend thousands on stuff that doesn't last more than 2 years....

Thanks in advance for the help!!!!  :)

be helpful to have a model number.
1st place to start would be ribbon connectors...
might even need to reflow some solder .
