Is there a way to use Mala without using mame? I just want to set up a couple bartops that run only sega or nintendo or pc games ect ect. but it keeps asking for some fricken mame file. Is it possible? If so how is it done?

anyone?

double posting not a good thing man but to answer your question i think mala was designed with mame in mind so prob (some1 correct me if not) cannot be done.
what you could do is choose like a top 5 or 10 classic retro arcade games to compliment your other two emus.
Pac man, donkey kong etc
Sorry couldn't be more of a help

Why? I see it happen a hundred times on forums all over the place. And besides, it worked. You gave me a great idea! ;D

I hate to bring up an old thread, but now I'm in the same boat. My friend's xbox died and he said something along the lines of "I could go the rest of my life without a new console. Just give me my old sega genesis back".
...So me being the sneaky guy I am grabbed an old computer and made a mala layout to select between a few old console emu's. It runs everything fine even though it is a 600mhz celeron with 256 megs of ram. Except of course mame titles.
So loadman, is there a way to remove or at least hide Mame from the menu/list of emulators?

Does that mean that there will be in an upcoming release?

That's ok I got it working with a bad rom. I just relabelled it to "do no push", and if you do it just jumps right back into the menu.
