Title: Mortal Kombat 2 resto
Post by: tonyh22 on December 23, 2010, 06:07:43 pm
I have just started my MK2 resto and I am working with the electronics first. I checked the power supply and adjusted the +5v to 5 but when I did it dropped my -5 to -3.6v or so. And my +12 is more in the +11 range. Does this signify I need a new power suply?

This is my first resto as you can tell with the noob questions.

The +5v is the most important.  The +12v in the +11v range should be fine.  I'm not sure on the -3.6v if that is too low or not.  Is the game powering up?

The MK boards are VERY picky about the -5vdc. MK1 - MK4 need nearly EXACTLY -5vdc or you may have glitches. That's just my experience. It's always a good idea to go ahead and replace the power supply if you suspect it. They aren't that expensive.
