Hi guys. I am finally starting my MAME cabinet build after years of wanting. I am looking for a high res version of mini-marquees like in the background of this one: http://www.gameongrafix.com/products/multi-mini-marquees-90-in-1-marquee-from (http://www.gameongrafix.com/products/multi-mini-marquees-90-in-1-marquee-from) . I am truly hoping someone here can help me, as I have scowered the web for it.
Also I am on the fence if I want to title my cabinet "The Archive" or "Arcade Archive". Since it will contain a bunch of other emulators, I am leaning toward just "The Archive", but I would appreciate any opinions one way or the other.
Thanks,
James

First off....
ALICE ---smurfing--- ROCKS!!!
OK, that said. Go with "The Archive" or come up with something else. I would eschew anything that uses the word arcade or any variation thereof. Go to KLOV and pump in "arcade" for a title. How many come back? What is the ratio of arcade games that uses the word arcade in any part of its title to those that don't? How many of these have you actually played?
Like everyone else here, I've played an assload of games and I honestly can't recall any individual game off the top of my head that uses the word arcade as part of its title without cheating. Obviously those cabinets weren't very memorable.
I just skipped the whole static Marquee business altogether. Made things a hell of a lot easier to work on the cabinet when I wasn't thinking about what to name the damn thing.
However.... despite what I or anyone else will tell you. THIS IS YOUR CABINET. Do what you want.

SavannahLion,
Thanks, I love Alice to this day and am still hoping a movie gets made based on it.
After much thought. I think I will go with just "The Archive"
Static Marquee? Do you mean you have an active marquee!?!
I was playing with the idea of putting a cheap projector behind a backlit screen, so the marquees could change based on the games.
***If anyone could help find the background, I would be SO GRATEFUL!***

Can't tell you how disappointed I was to see that crapfest Disney film get made. I'm waiting for an American Alice as well if for no other reason than to see Cheshire in action.

Sort of. My cabinet WIP has no place for a standard "traditional" marquee to be mounted anywhere.
I was playing with the idea of putting a cheap projector behind a backlit screen, so the marquees could change based on the games.
There are several projects that employ dynamic marquees. I believe someone did use a small projector on a backlit screen. It should be around here somewhere.

Lucid,
Any luck with this yet?
If not, I may be able to help out.
I can create one with specific mini-marquees you want.
Could throw something together fairly easy.
Here's an example....

I agree... too many have the word ARCADE in the title... Perhaps a play on words with your fetish for Alice? :-)
Alice in WonderMAME or WonderCADE
The Mad MAMER
Cheshire's Arcade Paradise of Kickass Games that I played as a KID. ok... that ones too long...
just some ideas... Tailor it to suit your personalty

Darkkniyt,
That would be Great! The classics would be fine. I am current designing my Marquee at 27 x 7.75 inches at 300dpi.
Firebat128,
Those are some great names. But I have left out using "Mame" since it be emulating other consoles as well. This morning, I came up with EMU-Elation or Emulation Station, but might just stick with The Archive.

Let me know how many across you would like.
The one you posted here has 10 across and 9 down (90 total!).
They seem a little small to me, but any amount can be done of course.
I though half that, 5 across and 3 or 4 down??
Also, do you have any specific marquees you'd like in it?
I can put them in as long as I have them or a descent pic is on the net somewhere.
And do you want "EMU-Lation" on it where "MAME" would go, or no wording?
