CORRECTION: This monitor is a WG 19V2000. :laugh2:
I swore, "never again." But the allure of a $100 *delivered* playing blind Asteroids was just too much for me. :tool:
Okay, so this is what I have:
Neck glow but no crackle upon power-up.
The red LED on the chassis is not on but, IIRC, that's good since it's the spot killer.
I've adjusted the contrast/brightness hoping against hope but still a blank screen.
I've yet to pull the fuses, so I'll update after I do.
Also, IIRC, the fuses on the chassis have nothing to do with the neck glow. . . right?
Man, it's been a while! :dizzy:
UPDATE: Both 5A 250V fuses up top of the chassis were blown. What may cause that?
Anyhow. . . off to get some of those for starters.
UPDATE 2: Well, I have a pic of the screen now and it's attached. Tends to be a bit "jumpy" and I can't get it any smaller than that using X/Y pots.
Lastly, attached is a pic of a flyback. Ignore the blue circles (this isn't my fly, just a pic I found for illustration purposes here) - the red arrow shows the part that's become brittle. The solid part that's supposed to slip up in there is just sitting there, shown with the green arrow, not even attached to it. I tried to jam it up in what's left of the brittle part and now it's just sitting there right "on top" of the red arrow part. I guess they are close enough that the voltage can flow. The pic on the tube was the same after doing this! :dunno
UPDATE 3: Turns out, looks like a diode, H1809, is needed. http://www.arcadesolution.com/blooming.html (http://www.arcadesolution.com/blooming.html)
Bob Roberts is out, so I'm looking for other options. . .
To be continued!

HV diode and cap kit en route from arcadeshop.com. . .
EDIT: Arrived today. . . (12/30)

Okay, put in the new Diode and now the screen is shrunk back to normal proportions BUT there is some "chatter" that coincides with the screen being a bit jittery.
No visible arcing seen even in pitch black.
Lastly, this chatter/attempted bloom lessens with brightness is turned
down. Sadly, the only way to get it to go away is by turning the
brightness to the point where it's barely visible. BUT at that point,
the chatter/jitter does stop.
Suggestions, please?

RESOLVED! :)
After recapping and reflowing both monitor boards, I was stuck as the
"pulse" was still present.
I revisited my insulation of the diode in the HV cage and, although no
arcing was seen, apparently there was some power escaping somewhere as
a reflow and reinsulate of the diode fixed the issue.
