Hey Everyone,
First off, great site. I've been trying to search for answers and sometimes my quest comes up empty or overwhelming. I work on classic cars and car audio as a hobby and nothing is as difficult as trying to put together a nice cabinet.
I have a old run and gun cabinet I'm converting over to a multicade type system. I'm a good woodworker and all the tools to build a nice panel. My only hurdle now is nice artwork for my control panel.
I'm looking for something in a red theme and would like to incorporate two 8-way joysticks, maybe six buttons per joystick, a 2-1/4 trackball, one 4-way joystick, and admin buttons.
I've seen the sites where I can buy control panel art for various designs, but nothing has labeling and markings for what is what. I want someone that has never played the cabinet to know exactly what each button's function is and so forth.
Anyone have a file that they have used they would care to share? If I can find something with labeling that would be great :)

I'm looking for something like this but in red, or something that would accomodate red buttons and controllers.

I may have something you can use.
I just posted my CP art in the artwork forum.
It's something I did based on the one you posted here that Motorfish did.
Take a look and if you like it I can email you the PSD file.
It's pretty big, but it's yours if you'd like.

Hi John,
Did you get my PM?
Thanks :)
-
Yep,
Sent you an email.
Had to upload the files to mediafire tho, my email isn't cooperating.
-
Where did you find the purple layout? I would love to find that one in green.
-
It's by Motorfish.
He has it posted on DeviantArt.
Unfortunately it's not in a high enough resolution.
He's a member here but hasn't been active for a while.
You might want to try his email, see if he can help you out?
-
Just for kicks...
Here it is in green.
I actually resized this to 26x13.
It might actually print fairly nice.
If you'd like, I can email the PSD to you.
It's about 16meg.
John

That would be great. Thank you.

Could you do that in red? That green turned out nice.

Got it, :-)

DM73,
What size do you need it in?
I can recolor it red (see pic) and size it to your need then upload it to Mediafire for you.

man your awesome, I need it to be 14" x 32" but i can take any size if it makes a difference in button/controller spacing if the size changes
Thanks again
-
DM,
Unfortunately the buttons will get skewed if I size it to 14x32.
Take a look at what I uploaded to Mediafire and see if that'll work for you.
I can break the layout down but that'll take some time.
Follow the link and go into the Motorfish folder, you'll see the files.

The depth is fine, but 26" wide will be a little too short on my cabinet. My cabinet is 28.5" wide. I wonder if there is a way to leave the image as is, but extend the black area out around 1.5" all the way around?
I have a copy of photshop 7 on my pc, just don't know how to use it yet. I want to be able to remove the spinner since I won't be using it and modify the trackball area for my happ 2-1/4" trackball plate? maybe start from the blue dotted line and stretch the control panel image out about 3"
-
DM,
Working on it. Burnt out for the day.
I'll pick up tomorrow.
Looks like it's gonna turn out pretty good.

awesome, Thanks again...this is much appriciated ;D

DM,
Sorry i've been away the past few days, xmas craziness.
Anyways, back at it thrying to finish this up but I ran into a problem!
The push buttons that are used in this cpo are 2 different types.
I didn't realize that at first.
The Player buttons are sized for normal Happ buttons but the admin buttons are smaller.
Do you plan on using all standard Happ buttons? I assume you are.
Before I continue I need to know since if you are using all standard Happs I'll have to resize them on the cpo plus resize the surrounds!
Will take more time to complete this way.
Let me know.

Hey, it's no problem. I actually noticed the size difference and planned on using the smaller buttons for admin functions. :) Thanks again for doing this.

Hey DM,
Sounds good. Give me a couple more days to "clean it up".

Awesome, thanks again :)

Hi!
Could you please send me the PSD file? :)
I would really like to rearrange this for my setup.
-
Would really like to get a higher resolution copy of original CPO artwork in blue. The ratio and theme suits the look i want to go with.
Regards

I wish I could get it too. If anyone could change the right mouse buttons to a flight stick that would be awesome! :notworthy:

Do you still have the PSD file? I would love to use it as a starting point. Thanks.

John hasn't been logged on to the site since March 20th.
Brian74 might have a copy.
Looks like the rest of the posters in the thread haven't been logged into the forums for a month or more.
