A Sega Master System II. Nice n easy, even for me! I've given it A/V out, and because it's a PAL, I gave it the 50/60hz mod as well.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some Fantasy Zone to play...

pics? or vid?

I didn't take many pics while I was doing it. I might pull it apart again to take a pic of the 50/60 switch mod.
So here's what I got. First pic is the composite out wiring. I didn't want to bother with S-video (which is that mod plus some extra stuff) because you have to make a small amp for the S-video, which to me is too much work ;D And besides, the CRT's I have don't even have S-video inputs. It might be something I do to hook this up to the 40" LED one day. I hooked my modded SMS up to it, and it looks much like it does unmodded on a 51cm telly...
Aesthetically, I think it would have looked better with the RCA plugs and the switch swapped around. But since you don't see the back much, it doesn't matter much. As suggested on Stickfreaks site, I added the extra audio plug so that I'm using both speakers on the tv.
This has been so worth it for me. The SMS is my least used system because it's a hassle with the aerial set up. Now I have a games room, and it can be hooked up on a switcher with my other old consoles. I get the feeling that the others are going to be unloved for a little while. Ghouls n ghosts and Fantasy Zone are begging to be clocked (",)

Nice!! Was it hard to do? I'll see if I can do it on mine.

cool setup.
just an idea but you could add a blue led to the switch and when in it is ntsc the console power light is red and when switched to pal it changes to blue just an idea ;D

You got to give it a Blue LED.

The A/V mod was pretty easy. The 50/60 mod was harder, because you have to pull out the leg of a chip from the motherboard. I was scared I was going to break mine. Didn't though. If you have an NTSC model, the 50/60 mod is unecessary...
I'll skip on the blue LED, guys. There's such a huge difference between 50 and 60 that the screen tells you what it's switched to (",)

I despise blue LEDs. Companies are putting them on everything these days and they tend to be approximately 38947104327984103 times brighter than their red/green/amber counterparts. It's distracting to have lights demanding your attention when you're watching the screen, and at night it's annoying to have a room lit up by a device's blue LED when a red or green one would simply be visible while not illuminating its surroundings.
Now, granted, maybe red or green LEDs can be just as bright as blue ones, but they aren't. I think the real problem is the absurd obsession that geeks have with blue LEDs, as though blue is a superior color to red or green or something. And then they're like, "Blue LEDS! Blue LEDS! Every LED must be blue! Pull any non-blue LED and replace it with a blue one--and while we're at it, make them as blindingly bright as possible so everyone will know that I have BLUE LEDS!"
. . . or something. Anyway, I've grown to be annoyed by them.
